After washing and drying every piece by hand...no dishwasher or stacking plates or crystal...Amanda mentioned that she didn't want to use it very often...I let her know that we use to eat every Sunday when I was her age using the nice china and it was always washed by hand...It's a nice tradition to pass on to her...
