Topic: The Temple

The day after my b-day I had the coolest experience. I got to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead. It was something I had looked forward to all my life. I had the warmest, most peaceful feeling when I walked through the doors of the temple.

It was so cool to see my mom and dad there. My dad is the one that baptized me.

My parents were called to be temple workers while we lived in Japan. Aaron and I would get up earlier on Thursday’s to make our own breakfast and lunches so mom could go do her temple assignment. It was our way to help be apart of her calling. She had to take 3 trains and travel 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the temple.

The temple has always been important in my family. I remember watching my Grandma Searle ironing their temple cloths before they would go to the temple. She would always tell me you have to look your best when you are going to the House of the Lord. My grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and now my brothers and sisters are good examples to me. They try to attend the temple often.

Pres. Howard W. Hunter has told us we need to come to the temple worthily and regularly. Let us be a temple attending and temple loving people.

Boyd K. Packer once said temples are the very center of the spiritual strength of the church.

Pres. Thomas S. Monson said in the Holy temple is where eternal covenants are made and it stands as a beacon for all to see and points us toward celestial glory. It truly is the House of God.

When I was six years old I was sealed to my mom and dad. I remember everyone being in white and my Grandma Searle crying. I don’t remember everything that day, but I remembered that I loved being in the temple with all my family.

I know that by attending the temple we can become closer to our Heavenly Father and we can be sealed to our families forever. I look forward to keep going to the temple and someday being married there.

In the name of Jesus Christ
Amen
